About HuskyCT
Husky CourseTools is a web based course management system used at UConn. HuskyCT is used for both fully online courses and as an enhancement to traditional classroom-based courses. Instructors customize their course pages to deliver messages, grades, reading materials, documents, and more to their students.
How does Husky CourseTools work?
Discussion Tool
Allows for threaded discussion. Messages are posted by topic area. Attachments are possible.
"My Grades" Tool
Allows individual students to see their grades that the instructor enters into the online "gradebook".
Calendar Tool
Allows instructors to post deadlines and assignments for the whole class, and can be used by individual students to enter their own calendars that only they can see.
"Quiz & Survey" Tool
Surveys are anonymous. The instructor will know if you answered the survey but not what your answers were.
Quizzes can include multiple choice, true-false, matching, short answer, and paragraph questions. Depending on the settings applied my the instructor, it may be possible to get your score and also see what questions you got wrong.
Assignments Tool
Allows for the online submission of completed assignments.
Mail Tool
An in-application messaging system. Each class site has its own mail tool. To see the mail for a class you must be logged into that class site. Once inside a class site, the mail tool can only be used to send mail to members of that particular class.
Uploading Tool
Allows for the uploading of files that may then be shared to other HuskyCT users.
