Student Educational Technology Assistants
| The mission of the SETA program is to: | |
| - support the pedagogically effective use of technology in the University of Connecticut undergraduate learning environment | |
| - provide resources for faculty curriculum development through the principles of instructional design | |
| - develop technological competence and interpersonal skills in Student Educational Technology Assistants (SETAs) | |
| -assist students with computer technology competency | |
| How the program works: | |
| The SETA Program works with faculty and other instructors who want to learn more about developing their knowledge and expertise in using technology to enhance learning. Faculty work with undergraduate student SETAs and professional instructional and technology specialists on a mutually agreed upon project. | |
| SETAs possess many basic technology skills. Each also has one to three areas of special expertise. These areas of special expertise influence which SETAs work on which projects | |
| The Instructional Resource Center and the Learning Resource Center serve as the base of daily operations for the SETA Program. Oversight, feedback, and networking occur through a SETA Course Tools (Vista) site and regular meetings of the SETA Program staff. | |
